Built for the End User, Not the Bid
Our deli slicers are made from quality materials with the person actually using the machine in mind, not just the purchasing department signing off on the invoice. That distinction matters more than it might seem. A slicer that looks identical to a lower cost competitor on paper can perform very differently once it's in daily use behind a deli counter, hour after hour, wash down after wash down.
It's a highly competitive market, and the cheapest slicer typically wins the bid. But paying less up front tends to correlate with paying more in parts and labor over the life of the machine. That tradeoff isn't always visible at the time of purchase, which is exactly why it catches so many operations off guard. The invoice looks good on day one. The service calls start showing up later, once the warranty conversation has already been had.
Why the Switches and Motor Rating Matter
Our slicers use IP69 rated switches, the highest rating in the industry. That isn't because anyone is pressure washing a deli slicer behind the counter. It's rated that high because it offers the best possible protection against water damage, even from typical wash downs and hand washing, the kind of everyday cleaning every deli counter does multiple times a shift. Most competing machines use switches rated IP33 or lower, a rating that offers only minimal protection against moisture.
That difference shows up over time, not all at once. Every wash down on a lower rated machine pushes those components a little closer to failure. It might not happen in the first month, or even the first year, but eventually the switches fail. And because the cause is classified as water damage, it typically isn't covered under warranty. The customer is left to pay for the repair and the part out of pocket, often at the worst possible time, in the middle of a busy service period.
The same story applies to the motor. Our motors are rated IP65, compared to IP33 or lower on many competing machines. Designing to the bare minimum keeps the initial price down, but it also means parts wear out faster and need to be replaced more often. That's a good outcome for a manufacturer selling replacement parts. It's not a good outcome for the customer paying for them, and it's not a coincidence either. A manufacturer that designs to the lowest acceptable standard has little incentive to change that once replacement parts become a steady revenue stream.
Finding the Right Slicer for the Job
Not every deli counter or processing operation needs the same machine, which is why our deli slicer lineup is built around a few distinct categories rather than a one size fits all approach.
Semi-auto slicers are designed for a continuous work cycle, making them a strong fit for high volume operations that need consistent, repeatable slicing throughout the day without constant manual input. Gravity slicers, like the L300G, are built to handle a wide variety of cured meats, cheeses, and deli products of different sizes, giving operations flexibility across their product mix. Vertical slicers round out the lineup in two versions: the C version, dedicated to meat cutting, and the S version, built specifically for sausages and cured meats.
Within these categories, our 300 and 350 series models give operations a choice based on the scale and demands of their counter or processing area. Models carrying the S designation include additional safety oriented features, an important distinction for operations where staff turnover is high and new employees may be less experienced with slicing equipment. Regardless of series or category, every model is built on the same underlying standard: the highest rated switches and motors in their class, the same 3rd generation blade technology, and construction meant to hold up under real, daily use.
The right slicer depends on the volume, product variety, and staffing of a given operation, but the underlying commitment to durability and low lifetime cost stays the same across the entire lineup.
The Real Cost of Buying on Price Alone
This is just one example of where we took the time to design our slicers the right way, for longevity rather than the lowest possible price tag. Unfortunately, many organizations still shop for the cheapest option because they view a deli slicer as a commodity, and often the purchasing department and the service department simply aren't talking to each other. Purchasing sees a lower number on a quote. Service sees the repeated repair tickets months later. Without that communication, the same mistake tends to repeat itself the next time equipment is bought.
The result is that the customer ends up spending more money over time, sometimes significantly more, once parts, labor, and repeat service calls are added up across the life of the machine. And that number doesn't even account for the opportunity cost of a down machine. When a slicer is out of service, the business can't produce or serve customers at full capacity until it's repaired. Fewer orders go out. Lines move slower. Staff have to work around a machine that isn't there. That lost production time is a real cost too, even if it never shows up on an invoice, and it's often the part of the equation that gets overlooked entirely until it's already happening.
